Program Modules

Team Mastery’s contact days consist of six three-day modules. Each of them will be held in different location in Europe*. In each of these events, one of the participants acts as “a country host”. This allows benchmarking and shared learning experiences.

Module One: Orientation and Learning (3 days)

On module one you'll get to know other participants and their challenges. This gives you a great possibility to start building your own network and thus directly learn from other's experiences. Also, you'll get "the big picture" of the whole program and you are introduced to the basic learning tools used in the program.

You'll get ideas how to promote individual both team learning using learning tools (such as learning contract, literature and learning journal), dialogue and group reflection and team companies as learning platforms. During module one you'll create your own learning plan and start to outline your organization's vision and strategies.

The first module one is held in Finland. One of the days includes a "learning expedition to Team Academy". It's a inspiring benchmarking visit to the world of projects, teams and learning in action.

Module Two: Leadership (3 days)

Creating a pro-entrepreneurship culture requires strong, captivating vision and lots of day-to-day leadership amongst people. During module two you create drafts of your organization's mission, vision, values and guiding principles (or you develop them further, depending on your current situation and organization's development phase). In addition, you'll learn how to make them "stick" and last. Module two also gives you ideas on how to lead in team-organizations and how to coach individuals to act as leaders.

Module Three: Customers and Marketing (3 days)

Customers are central part of any organization - there can be no entrepreneurship without customers. Module three focuses on such themes as how to learn from customers, how coach can connect his organization to potential customers, how to coach people on marketing and ultimately, how to build communities and networks. The idea is to learn how to coach marketing, not just learn marketing tricks.

Module Four: Innovation and Knowledge Management (3 days)

It's very fashionable to talk about creativity and innovations. But what do they mean in reality and how to transform ideas into profitable innovations? This question is the central theme of module four. During it you explore how to increase creativity in your context and how to manage knowledge. You will find many ways to do this by using such ideas as "knowledge creation forums" or "giving birth sessions". We bet that you'll invent yourself many more during module four.

Module Five: Brand and Strategy (3 days)

Strategy is a verb, not a noun. In module five the development focus is on strategic planning and using strategic actions in learning. Also, you'll develop your organization's brand both to act as internal leadership tool and as marketing concept. Module five also includes themes on co-creating and developing service-bundles, offerings to customers. Of course, you'll explore these themes from the viewpoint of coaching - how to coach people on these issues.

Module Six: Wrap-Up and Future, Coach's  Character (3 days)

Module six wraps it all up: all findings, ideas, practices and experiences are shared. You'll summarize your lessons learned and analyze your own development as a coach. It's a graduation day for all. Although this is the final module, it's not the last one - you have the opportunity to plan the future and find next steps with other network partners gained during the whole program. It's both the end and start for something new.

Great Books and Reflecting on Learning

In addition to contact days, Team Mastery includes a self-managed literature program. It consists of hundreds books on leadership, team and community building, marketing, innovation and personal development. During the program 10 to 15 books of your choice will be read. Also, to share your insights on your experiences and developmental work, you’ll write reflection papers after each module.

You can download a list of some of the book choices you’ll have in Team Mastery from here ("Team Mastery Literature Pack", PDF).
